Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, fiends, and dark forces growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Questers and Schemers parties.
